Tammy is one of those timeless brides that comes along, radiating the joy of her engagement and bringing such light to the shoot. The kind that you just know, she is absolutely in love and thrilled. After much discussion, we decided on Mercer Arboretum and planned a date, and a backup date just in case. Thank goodness we did because our first got rained out. The day of the shoot, it rained all the way up to our appointment, stopped just long enough to shoot, and commenced pouring as soon as we finished. We shot in March, and thanks to the mild winter were greeted with a sea of paper white tulips. I brought the parasol along just because you cannot have a country bride with this level of elegance without a parasol. Mine had not come in yet, and this fantastic young lady named Cheyenne in Kerrville, Texas took a huge chance on letting me borrow hers, knowing I was in a bind and desperate to find one soon. We have since gotten ours that was on order. The diverse backdrop available for all of the pictures made the hour and a half session fly by. Tammy brought her boots, which made the pictures in the Texas native garden perfect, and supplied a bouquet just like she would have for the wedding. But the moment that absolutely left me star-struck was rounding the corner to the section of the garden that had a tree covered in tiny purple blooms. The recent rain scattered thousands of tiny purple petals like glitter on the cobblestone path, making for a breathtaking image of the lovely Tammy surrounded by an Enchanted Garden effect.
