Timeless bridals

It should be no surprise that Louise was our bride of the week. Her grace and poise is something you might see in a classical novel. She reminds me of a character from a Jane Austen book, or a blonde version of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. So feminine, yet a powerhouse all at the same time. Louise contacted me about doing the bridals and engagement pictures she never got to do originally. When now hubby Quen found out he was being deployed, Louise and Quen made the hard decision to go ahead and get married, and save the party for his return. Fast forward to now. In talking about their plan for their much anticipated “big” wedding, we decided on doing a split engagement and bridal session. We started with Louise’s bridal session. And yes, we even got Quen involved in those. It was a truly unique shoot, because typically we only have the bride to work with. In this case, Quen was there to help showcase his bride, as well as get her to smile like only he can.

Retro in all the right ways

I never shy away from a birdcage veil. I absolutely love them. For Louise, her veil only added to that timeless feel of her entire ensemble. Add to it the parasol, one she picked up on a trip overseas long before her wedding, or even meeting her husband-to-be, and you have the look of timeless perfection. She could have stepped out of a painting in a museum. But the key focus in every picture has to be her smile. Louise has a smile that reaches her eyes, and lets you know she is happy in every fiber of her being. Of course, having Quen along to make her laugh helped tremendously. I love the low scoop to the back of her dress coupled with the high neckline. It’s a reverse take off of modern trends, which really sets her dress apart. After a few spins and dips from her beloved, it was off to the engagement session!
