The Beach Wedding: Simplicity At It’s Finest
When the average wedding costs tens of thousands of dollars, couples find themselves questioning at times if all the pomp and circumstance is worth it. This is most especially true, if this isn’t a first wedding. I often hear, “We did the big wedding thing already. This time, not so much.” Occasionally, I will have a couple decide to elope. They still want pictures to remember their big day, even if it isn’t so “big”. I find myself absolutely adoring these weddings, because their simplicity places so much focus on what truly matters at a wedding: each other. Enter the beach wedding. Erika and Paul did a marvelous job with their beach wedding. An officiant joined us on the beach in Galveston, Texas, and the couple was joined by their daughters. There, the 6 of us participated in a simple, elegant, and truly touching wedding.
A Party and Photoshoot, From Start To Finish
Our darling couple had everyone get all gussied up for their beach wedding. Beautiful gowns for the bridesmaids, an incredible wedding gown for our bride, and a quite dapper number for our groom. The blue and grey color palette complimented the surrounding beach scene quite well, yet stood out enough to give a fancy feel to the serenity and simplicity that the beach offered us that morning. Post ceremony, it was time for fun! Without the hurried timeline most weddings come with, we were able to play, have fun, and take many candid shots both in the water and on the beach. It did this photographer’s heart such good, and was a blast from start to finish! From the beach, we traveled to the seawall. There, we were able to get several shots set against the backdrop of Pleasure Pier and all of it’s charming whimsy.
