An engagement to remember

In the heartwarming love story between Shane and Megan, there are some twists, a few turns, and a few sudden drops and climbs. As an outsider looking in, I’ve watched these two grow together. I’ve known Shane for many many years, as I worked with him quite a while ago. He was the one we sent in to kill spiders, and chase peacocks that wandered aimlessly into our building. So, when he found Megan, I honestly got my hopes up, being the romantic sap I am. Time marched on, and a long while later (too long Shane!!) my husband and I bumped into Shane and Oats (the oat colored puppy pictured later) at our local Starbucks. Naturally, I asked where the ring is. He snickered and said he was working on it. I reminded him, as I’m sure everyone in his life was doing as well, that a girl like Megan is one in a million. He already knew. It was this conversation, before I had the pleasure of actually meeting Megan, that I knew it wouldn’t be long. Sure enough, within a few months, I heard the screams for joy from half our city. Shane proposed, and Megan said yes.

Must Love Dogs

Fast forward, and a couple pups later, engagement pictures were needed. I was ready. Boy, was I ready! Shane and Megan selected the Orchard at Caney Creek as their venue. The fabulous folks out there let us come out for a fantastic engagement session, complete with the couple’s fur children: Porter, Oats and baby Citra. Now, before you think I am some kind of wizard, I am not. I did, however, pack a full ziplock of treats, and sat them all facing a pasture of cows, to attract the pups’ attention. The primary shot? One single frame. No cutting and pasting. But seriously, how can you not love this crew? Enjoy!!
