Here ye! Here ye! We have a Renaissance Engagement session for ye!
In this line of work, there are moments when you get excited about shooting with someone. Really, really excited. So, when Kelli called me and said her wedding would be at the opening of the Texas Renaissance Festival, I all but came through the phone, knowing I absolutely HAD to work with them both! Every little detail was discussed, and a plan put in place.
When it came time for engagement pictures, we decided to sort of dry run things and go out to the RenFair grounds. Dry wasn’t what we had out there. It was hot. Very, very hot. Lots of sweat. I can only imagine how hot the two of them were in full costume! As we were shooting, and peeking at the shots, then shooting more, one thing clearly stood out: how much they loved each other and enjoyed one another’s company. One of the shots jumped out at me through the back of the camera. As Kelli had been laying her head in Ray’s lap for one of our shots, the combined angle of the sun and the lens created the coolest rainbow under her head. It looked like she was resting her head on a pillow made of a rainbow. It made for the coolest, completely unique image! I cannot wait for the wedding!! Enjoy!
