…And baby makes 3…

Elizabeth contacted me online, and let me know she was needing maternity pictures for what was to be their first, a little girl. Most of their family is out of town, and they wanted to share the experience with grandparents-to-be. After deciding on Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, Texas, we set a date and prayed for good weather. Little did we know this was going to be my last shoot at this park for a long while before torrential downpours and biblical-level flooding occurred within the week. I was so glad we shot when we did! Oyster Creek Park is ever-changing. I can literally shoot there 4 times in the same week with a different feel to each shoot. It’s not exceptionally large, but it is vastly diverse. For this reason, I love it.

A family affair

I love that grandparents sent special somethings for little Claire, as we would soon know her to be called. From hand-knit and crochet outfits, to quilts, it is evident she was loved long before she arrived. Although a few “traditional” maternity shots were thrown in, I loved the couple’s laid back nature, and desire to have fun while we took the pictures. I had to include the picture with the gator and parasol, simply because I was informed of an ongoing duel between brothers in which, each tries to top the others at photo shoots of importance. Once I was let in on this little tidbit, I had to help. Challenge Accepted! I could only pack so much yes into one picture. And honestly, it is still my favorite maternity shot to date. The fact that Elizabeth hopped right in there with “oh, maybe I can be on the side, like shaking my head or something.” It’s clear why these two are so perfect together. I hope you enjoy the shoot as much as I did shooting it, and still do!
